My First Studio Project

I've been really busy these past few months because I was VERY fortunate enough to land my first animation studio gig at Titmouse this past summer (THANK YOU Michael Moloney)! I animated on Metalacalypse: The Doom Star Requiem A Klok Opera. It was an absolute INCREDIBLE experience, and I was so happy to be apart of the team! I've met so many talented people whom I've befriended, and they greatly inspired me to push myself during this production! Thank you all for making my first experience in this industry one I'll never forget! :'D

I'm also so grateful that the studio decided to keep me around after this project for the time being! So I'm currently animating for another show, but I hope to continue posting some stuff here when I can. Although I'm definitely slowed down not only by work, but by the fact that I can't use my computer space at home because of a broken outlet...... So I can't even draw anything (digitally) for myself even if I wanted to for now.... though I should really try to draw traditionally more often anyway, though..... haha!

Crossing the Lanayru Sand Sea

A piece I did based on the Washington Crossing the Delaware painting. I really like those little ancient robots from Skyward Sword, but I didn't realize just how insanely detailed their designs were, until I actually drew them..... Five times! lol

Also, I created a Tumblr page! Any and all followers are appreciated! http://dantebufordart.tumblr.com/

Bus Sketches

It took me 2 hours to get to work by bus, so I took advantage of it by reading my art books, and drawing people.

Pink Fairy Armadillo/Pepto-dillo

Another drawing I did for the animal drawing group. This one was definitely fun to do! I especially enjoyed coloring in its Pepto-Bismal shell (which is why I named him Pepto-dillo)! lol

Honduran White Bat

I did this for a daily animal drawing group I just joined on devinatArt, and yesterday's animal was the Honduran White Bat. I thought bats were pretty cute before, but these ones are just painfully adorable!

Flying Pug

Just opened Photoshop and started painting. This was the result! It was fun, so I'll definitely be doing more.

Popular with the Ladies Gorilla

I've been wanting to draw this for some time, and I finally got around to doing it!

Arctic Traveler Dante

I drew myself as an arctic traveler with my little pug pal!

I was inspired to do this drawing after a friend of mine introduced me to the art style from the movie, "Children Who Chased Lost Voices from Deep Below." I haven't watched the movie, but it looks absolutely beautiful! I also always wanted to draw myself riding a giant pug!

Figure Drawings from 2012

It's actually been a very long time since I've taken my figure drawings and posted them. I kinda forgot how to properly fix them in Photoshop, so I'm sorry they look all weird....

There are a lot of things I still need to improve on when it comes to figure drawing, but one thing I hate is when I don't make a complete drawing of the whole body. I have so many drawings that have missing legs, and heads, and faces, and arms, and hands, and feet..... And I don't want to go back and draw them in later because it'll look to obvious that I added it afterwards, and the drawing will look even worse..... Besides, I'll feel a lot better knowing that I got it all in that very moment I was drawing it.

Well, I definitely feel like I've improved over my drawings in the past, so at least I'm overcoming my drawing issues little by little.... VERY slowly, but surely....

11 Second Club December Entry and Demo Reel

Hey! Sorry (again...) for it being a while since I've posted something, but I've been busy doing a lot of animating in Flash. One of the pieces I did recently was for the 11 Second Club competition this past December. After several attempts throughout 2012, this is the first ever piece that I actually finished on time!! That in itself was accomplishment enough for me!

But then I got the "icing on the cake" when I found out this morning that my entry ranked in the top 5 best animations for that month! I was just hoping to be in the top 50%! I'm sorry the video quality isn't very good, though. I'm not sure how other people made there's look so clear. I followed the rules about having my entry be 560x316... I'm not very good with rendering out good videos....

But yeah, this was a lot of fun to do!!

Also, here's a link to my most current animation reel. Hope you like it!

I hope to accomplish a lot this year in the field of animation, so wish me luck! I'll keep you posted on my progress.
